Designed for motivated high school students, this summer portfolio course helps young artists strengthen both their technical skills and creative voice while building a cohesive body of work for art school applications, specialized arts programs, or personal artistic growth.
Students will explore a variety of media, including drawing, painting, mixed media, and observational studies, while developing strong foundations in composition, colour, perspective, and concept development. Through guided projects, individual feedback, and portfolio-focused assignments, students will learn how to create artwork that demonstrates originality, experimentation, and technical ability.
The course encourages students to push their ideas further, refine their artistic process, and gain confidence in presenting their work. Alongside studio practice, students will receive support with portfolio selection, sketchbook development, and preparing artwork for applications and interviews.
Open to students of all skill levels who are passionate about fine art and interested in developing a strong and personal portfolio in a supportive, creative environment.
*Credit will be offered for absences with one week's prior notice. If you are feeling unwell, we will happily reschedule.
